Emily Bramich’s journey with UGL began in 2020 through the CIMIC Group graduate program, where she worked as a health, safety and environment advisor in Sydney. Originally from Perth, Emily relocated back home during the height of COVID when borders reopened, continuing her work remotely on UGL projects. After a brief stint with another company, Emily reconnected with her former manager, leading her to rejoin UGL as an environmental advisor in the new energy sector. “It felt great to return and work with such high-caliber people,” she reflects.
In her role, Emily has contributed to a variety of projects, including battery infrastructure developments. She highlights Neoen Australia’s Collie Battery project in Western Australia as a key milestone, saying, “We’ve just completed stage one of five, and it’s been rewarding to support the team on environmental education and see their positive response.”
Mentorship plays a significant part in Emily’s career. She credits UGL team members Amber McDonald, a senior advisor and advocate for female leadership, and her manager Richard Eyden for their guidance. Emily also appreciates the support of the Perth based environmental team, led by Sean Helbeig, whom she describes as “a wealth of knowledge.”
What makes UGL special? For Emily, it’s the people. “I love visiting sites and working with the teams — they’re always welcoming and open to explaining processes,” she says. She also values UGL’s focus on sustainability, with the environmental team growing each year across the country.
Outside of work, Emily enjoys reformer pilates, exploring wildlife reserves, and hiking. “My partner and I just got back from New Zealand, where we explored the national parks - it was absolutely beautiful.”
