Ella Hodgson embarked on her journey with UGL just over three years ago, joining as an electrical fitter apprentice. Now in her fourth year, Ella reflects on her time and experiences at UGL's Bassendean motors and generators workshop in Western Australia.
Despite being in the early stages of her career, Ella has already had some remarkable experiences.
“One highlight was working on the first 930 Wheel Motor Assembly which UGL Bassendean/Bayswater sent out. This project provided me with invaluable learning opportunities.”
UGL’s apprentice rotation program has allowed Ella to work in various sections within the motors and generators workshop. “Having the skills to be able to work in a variety of sections has provided me with a wealth of knowledge that will help further my career.”
Mentorship played a crucial role in Ella’s development. Throughout her apprenticeship she has had many mentors, each offering unique perspectives on problem solving and approaching a task.
“Everyone I have had the privilege of working with always goes that extra step to help where needed.”
Outside of work, Ella enjoys watching footy, going to the gym, catching up with friends, and spending time taking her daughter on various adventures.
Ella’s journey at UGL shows our dedication to nurturing talent and providing opportunities for growth in a supportive environment.
“The culture at UGL is great, we all look out for one another which truly makes the workplace pleasant. My time with UGL has been nothing but outstanding and I can’t wait to see where I end up within the company.”
