UGL hosted a Men’s Health Week event yesterday at our manufacturing and maintenance facility in Broadmeadow, NSW.
The event covered a variety of topics to provide information to our workforce on finances, nutrition, and mental and physical health.
Men’s Health Week, held annually in June, aims to promote health and wellbeing within the community.
We heard from:
- Belinda Hemingway, Medibank’s Business Development Manager, about health insurance programs;
- Rachel Svenson, Eat Thrive Perform’s Accredited Sports Dietitian, about nutrition;
- Junior Borrett, Black Dog Ride’s Education Awareness Ambassador, about his journey with mental health; and
- Kurt Gidley, Business Development Manager for Protech, Newcastle Knights legend, mental health ambassador and community advocate, about health and wellbeing.
Well done to UGL’s Production Delivery Manager, Damien Woodcock, who was champion and host for the event and to the site’s Senior People and Culture Coordinator, Braeley Maunder, for his support in making the event a success.
We are proud of the team at Broadmeadow for enabling this event and ensuring our workforce has the tools, strategies and connections to improve their health and wellbeing.
