As part of the CIMIC Group Graduate Program’s investment in our future leaders, development days are held each year – where our graduates are challenged to learn more about our business and themselves, and it’s setting them up for success.
The recent state-based development day events brought together our graduate cohort from across the group for an enriching and collaborative experience.
The events took place in four key locations: Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Perth, where nearly 300 graduates, including both first and second-year participants and undergraduates, attended.
Development days are an important part of our Graduate Program. During the development sessions, graduates hear from business leaders who help them build their business knowledge and commercial capability.
In addition, graduates are helped to develop their interpersonal effectiveness – focusing on the skills which are critical to their successful career growth.
A component of the development day events was the opportunity for graduates to network, both within their cohorts and with senior leaders, who joined the sessions and shared lunch with the graduates. These interactions provide invaluable insights into leadership and career development.
The events concluded with an engaging Team Maze Challenge — an exercise aimed at applying the day’s learnings to a real-world task. The teams had to complete a maze without talking, testing their communication and collaboration skills. Competition was fierce, and many learned valuable lessons.
