Heath is currently studying International Business at QUT and joined UGL in 2022 as a procurement undergrad to gain valuable experience and knowledge in a real-world setting. His dedication and hard work has paid off with Heath recently joining UGL full time as a procurement administrator in our utilities projects team.

“I have gained valuable skills in the logistics process, supply chain, and collaborating with diverse teams, which are directly applicable to my International Business degree. I have also gained a broad understanding of real-world business, which has significantly helped. Working at UGL has been a valuable experience, and I am grateful for the opportunities it has provided me for my future career in the business field.”

Working on different projects

In his time at UGL, Heath has worked on more than eight projects that have contributed to an increased skill set helping towards his final studies.

“Working on multiple projects and bids has allowed me to develop my skills, collaborate with others, and implement tailored procurement strategies. Balancing competing priorities can be challenging, but it also provides exciting opportunities to work on a variety of projects and collaborate with different teams across the company.”

Working with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses

During his time in the procurement team, Heath has worked closely with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses to ensure collaborative feedback for all projects.

“Working with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses as part of the procurement team at UGL has been highly rewarding.
